LOVE truly is the answer my friends

This is an article I wrote. The ‘beautiful game’ refers to soccer:

If the majority of scientists and economists are correct in their analysis of global warming trends, the planet is facing a significant environmental and socio-economic crisis in the years to come. If what we are told is true, we have a very short window of opportunity (scientists estimate 10 – 20 years) in which to eliminate our bad habits in order to save the planet. We have a purpose; we are, and I say this very humbly, the most important generation to walk the planet. Think of ten years over the course of human history: It is merely a momentary blip; a blink of an eye over the course of a cosmic millennium. And you and I, for whatever reason, are alive and breathing during this most precious and scary and exhilarating of times. The way our generation conducts business as well as the way our generation conducts our own individual lives is integral to the success or the demise of the planet. Still don’t think you have a purpose?

It is estimated that if the entire world lived the lifestyle North Americans lead, we would require four earths to supply the necessary resources and energy. Our greed, our reliance on material goods to satisfy our voracious appetites for comfort and happiness, must be called in to question. To save this planet, we must first consult our own conscience. Our void, the one with which we have been taught to believe that consumer goods would fill, must too be questioned. Rather than filling our void with empty consumerist calories, could we, or perhaps should we, not be looking to satisfy our desire for ‘purpose’ through a more natural means? Perhaps our quest for planetary purity begins with our own personal quest for resurgence in our spiritual awareness. Perhaps love is the medicine so desperately required; a medicine so pure, natural and powerful that it is THE SOLUTION. After all, we did not inherit this planet from our grand parents, we are borrowing it from our children. To deny them access to clean drinking water, farmland that is capable of producing food, and clean air, is a crime that is not forgivable.

I don’t pretend to have the be-all-end-all solutions to the many problems that are plaguing our world, but I am sure that love is capable of producing an abundance of necessary changes that will have a domino effect in precipitating the victory of ‘good over evil’. My recommendation is that you do whatever it takes to get ‘the love’ inside of you. If you live your life in conjunction with the principles of love, you are contributing to ‘the goodness’. Science is proving through quantum mechanics and sub atomic physics that the mind is more powerful than we’ve ever imagined. Do what makes you feel happy and healthy, the love will enter you and through you it will be re-directed to everyone you meet and every other living creature that inhabits this planet. With love inside, you will be free from the shackles that keep you from being free and happy. Consume yourself with love instead of unnecessary products. Immerse yourself in love, devour love, eat it up, spread it on your toast, give it to everyone you meet and everyone you already know… It is the message sent to us by the wise men and women of all ages, of all cultures, of all faiths… these philosophers, artists, and spiritual teachers are the leaders we need to look to seek advice, they are the only leaders who ask of nothing but love in return. Their message is universal… It is THE ONE message, possibly the only piece of information left that hasn’t been tainted by the hands of the corrupt or the biased, the one message every one of us can ascertain without the slightest doubt of its authenticity. With love comes fulfillment, and with fulfillment comes a deeper sense of meaning, and from a deeper sense of meaning comes the ability to be truly free and happy, and once this has been attained, the desire to want anything that is not conducive to living life in harmony simply fades away. Be gracious for everything you have and everything that has ever happened to you, for being thankful is the gateway to becoming content, and being content is how you allow love into your life.

In a world where people from all corners of the globe are inundated daily with the idea that we have little in common, where we are taught to seek out our cultural, ethnic, political, religious, socio-economic differences and be skeptical of the motives of anyone who is different, perhaps a new version of approaching our planet and the human groups that populate this planet is desperately required. Perhaps a new view where commonalities are identified, commoradories are emphasized, uniqueness not only tolerated but encouraged to flourish, and global inequities and disparities forever ridden, is a perspective that will open the gate to a global revolution fuelled by love. If the pursuit of victory, in one’s unrelenquishing quest for satisfaction and fulfillment, is fuelled by aggression that has harmful implications to others and the planet on which we share, does that pursuit of victory not cross the line to constitute an act of over competition? Surely if the inner need to be victorious breeds behavior that is not conducive to LOVE then it is a desire which should not be satisfied. Maybe competition and victory for the sole purposes of satisfying one’s ego is not competition that will result in the advancement of our society. Perhaps a society that favours cooperation to unhealthy over competition is a necessary change to a fundamental aspect of our way of thinking if our society and planet are to evolve in a healthy direction. Perhaps a society that re-evaluates success by devaluing vanity items and status symbols and instead re-emphasizes the importance and the beauty of the human spirit, the magic of life, the wonder of the universe, and encourages the spreading of love for ourselves, to our fellow beings, and to the universe, is a society truly worth changing for. A society that values human community and encourages real progress can reignite the passion for life in so many of us that have lost that lust. The beautiful game (soccer), in its purity, offers us an example of how we can work together, of how we can be competitive amongst ourselves but still maintain the love and respect for all who are mutually playing a part together in the ‘celebration’ of a soccer game. It is necessary for us to learn how to compete in love in order for us to fully live life in love. The beautiful game offers us this chance. By rediscovering the true spirit of the beautiful game, we are exposing ourselves to life in harmony. Experiencing this harmony can inspire us to approach all aspects of life from this same harmonious perspective, and in a sense, the beautiful game offers us the opportunity to break down the century old barriers of imperialism and dominance which are responsible for a collective attitude which tolerates greed and inequity and suffering. It offers us the opportunity to permit the freeflowing path of love, of simplicity, of beauty, of creativity, of integrity, of harmony…. of fulfillment amongst ourselves by playing the game again for fun, while in harmony with ourselves, our team mates, and our opponents. Perhaps from the resurgence of the beautiful game will springboard in us the paradoxical changes in heart and mind that are needed now more than ever to save our planet, to save ourselves. Peace and LOVE to all,

The climate is always changing–the planet is not dead, unlike the center of most of the globalists, who in their striving for more and more for themselves, want everything else around them crushed. Global warming is a marketing device and a rather transparent attempt to achieve the final tryanny. By the way, anyone who has stuided climatology (my favorite subject in college) knows the current hysteria is rather hysterical….
